The day had started out brilliantly. Feliciano Vargas, a sweet little boy with a mild temper and a love for pasta, had gotten his first Pokemon! The Professor had been so kind to him and helped him choose just the one he needed! He had chosen the little turtle Pokemon; Squirtle. In the excitement of the moment, he had begun having trouble thinking of a name for the poor fellow. The Professor so nicely suggested that Feli name it after someone he knew, so the name Ludwig Jr. had come about. Ah, what a fine name it was! And perfect for the little guy, too! The Squirtle seemed to act just like the man he was named after. Feli couldn't wait to show it to Ludwig!
Trouble was, once he had entered the first Route to the next city, he had gotten utterly lost. He had been wandering around for quite a while, now, and the day was becoming night. He wasn't too worried, but the day Pokemon had gone to the afternoon sort, and now the HootHoots were... well, hooting, and it was getting a little frightening.
Ludwig Jr., however, seemed perfectly at ease. He moved along, practically leading the way, now, and didn't bother himself with the noises of the wild. Unless he was directly confronted, then there was no need to be wasting his time with any other creatures. He wanted to get to a nearby town and finally get some rest, and obviously letting this trainer lead the way was a baaaad idea.

The day had started out terrible for the older Vargas brother. While his little brother, Feliciano, had remembered to pick up one of these strange creatures he himself had completely forgotten. Only once outside to explore had he thought about it too but it was to late to even go back. There would be nothing left he was sure of it. Even if reality there were more than enough due to so many people starting out on this journey, Romano was convinced he'd be there to late and get nothing. He could never bother going with that in mind.
The science of knowing of his little brother having one of these 'pokémon' was upsetting the older Italian. The thought of being beaten in something once again was repeating itself in his mind over and over. In the heat of the moment he had set out his own journey, without a pokémon or any other type of aid apart from some of these so called pokéballs. It couldn't be difficult to get trough this alone, right? As the day progressed Romano found himself in a similar situation to Feliciano.
The night had hit him faster than he wanted. Being out in the woods by himself was creeping him out beyond believe, having someone, anyone, with him would be a great relieve. Several creatures began to show themselves, making noises and moving about. Where was that bastard when you needed him? Romano cursed softly to himself, glancing around. It took him a lot to keep calm, to keep from shaking, but as long as nothing approached he could manage.
Maybe he should give up, this was going nowhere. He could try to dash out of the forest and give in to his fear, or he could sit here and be consumed by it. The choice was surprisingly difficult. As he thought his choices over he noticed a small dot of light in the distance, it seemed to be fire. There's people where there's fire if he recalled the saying correctly. It was worth taking a chance, heh, he could get help starting up and- w-what was that?! Romano's stared at the ground, he swore he felt something slither around his feet. A pair of bright yellow snake-like eyes suddenly stared back at him followed by a very low hissing sound. “o-oh shit...” Romano stumbled back to get away. The owner of the yellow eyes mimicked his movements, creeping closer. Something (a tail?) brushed against his leg now, rattling. You didn't have to be a genius to understand this wasn't a very safe situation.
Panicking he began to shout for help. It chased away most of the creatures that were close, damn those cowards. “S-stay back you bastard, I'll...I'll bash your fucking head in with my foot dammit!” as he hoped to scare the snake, who seemed to go by the name of 'Ekans', the opposite happened, as if urging the snake to get ready to attack. “CHIGIII-!!!” Romano tripped over the creature in another moment of panic, clumsily holding on to a tree. Thankfully a attack never came, not counting a bright flash and a sudden warmth not far away from where he was standing. Daring to open his eye,s the first thing he noticed wasn't the fire, but the small orange creature that had begun to clung to his leg. It must have protected him, the fire on it's tail could be easily linked to the burned ekans.
Still shaking (and slightly sobbing) the brunette stepped away, leaving 'the scene of the crime' as fast as possible. The charmander, who he now named Lucciola, following close behind. Rushing down the forest path he notice a figure not to far away...was it- no, it couldn't be. “Oi, stupid little brother!” calling out to who he believed to be Feliciano he kept approaching. It felt so much better running into someone else.
[so sorry for this wall of text.]

It wasn't too long later that Feliciano could have sworn he'd heard the sound of footsteps. Only Ludwig Jr. seemed to be paying attention to the fact that the noice was heading straight for them as he strategically moved to the side it was coming from, ready to defend his less than average trainer. It had been odd that the tiny fellow had taken to Feli so quickly, especially considering that the Pokemon could very well be more intelligent than his trainer, but nevertheless here he stood to defend the idiot. Frolicking about in the wild just didn't suit his tastes, so it was probably better to stick with the human.
A slightly familiar face appeared, and poor Ludwig Jr. had to do a double-take before realizing that they were clearly two different people, though they did have their similarities.
Feli finally looked back when he was called, smiling and waving to the person he recognized immediately as his brother Romano Vargas. "Brotherrr~!" he called back, standing on his tiptoes until Romano finally reached them. The boy moved quickly to engulf his elder brother in a hug, squeezing him tightly. "Wow! I'm sooo happy! Is this your new Pokemon?" Just as cheery as ever in an almost sickening way.
Ludwig Jr. eyed the fiery lizard carefully, perhaps judging whether it was a threat or not. That fire wouldn't be difficult to drench, but he wouldn't do anything if this other Pokemon didn't.
