Hong Kong had no idea when he had turned into a Pokemon, but when he did in the forest where he was sleeping in he woke up being unable to breathe. That was odd, not being able to breathe in air. But somehow his body was screaming for water and he tried to run to the nearby river, but somehow ended up flopping.
Wait, what? He strained to see what had happened to him, but had ended up flopping more and turning around. That was too odd. He tried looking for Flameo in panic, wanting to know what had happened to him.
Flameo, on the other hand was concerned about the sudden lack of warmth and had gotten up, the Torchic unsure of what had happened. He knew Hong Kong woke up sometimes in the middle of the night, but for what reasons he did not know or comprehend, but anyway, he knew this was different. He didn't feel the other leaving or anything, and he opened his black eyes to see a... Qwilfish flopping about?
He looked at the strange fish and wondered how it had gotten there. The river was a few meters away, but still, it wasn't exactly typical of a Qwilfish to flop that far onto dry ground.
He wondered what to do, and suddenly realised there was a familiar scent about the Qwilfish. It... it was his trainer!? He blinked at the fish who seemed to be gasping for air and immediately picked him up by the tail to toss him into the water and toddled as quickly as his little bird legs could to the area where he had thrown the other Pokemon into.
Hong Kong was actually pretty stunned when his own Pokemon had approached him looking so big. He highly doubted that the other had grown overnight, something must have happened to himself to turn him into something so small. He was even more surprised to feel the beak of the Torchic close around on his... tail (?) and throw him in the direction of the river.
Water splashed as Hong Kong landed in the river, and he suddenly found himself able to breathe better. What on earth happened to him?! He wondered and suddenly saw a little pocket mirror at the bottom of the river and swam to it. A trainer probably dropped it here, he mused to himself and his mind went blank when he saw what was looking into a mirror.
A dark blue and cream pufferfish with pink lips was staring right back at him. He let out a scream underwater, also somewhat surprised to actually hear that his scream had sounded different. He saw a spot of orange at the surface of the water and immediately swam up to see his Torchic, who had probably saved his life somewhat.
"T-thanks..." He muttered, keeping most of his body underwater so he could actually breathe.
"No problem~" Flameo chirped.
Hong Kong stared up at the Torchic. He couldn't believe he just understood what the other had said. Maybe it was because he was a Pokemon now... yeah... that was it.
"So... what should we do now?" Flameo asked, tilting his head to one side.
"... we should just travel down the river. I need to breathe. And I guess we should find out what happened and how to change me back." Was the Asian-turned-pufferfish's reply.
"Okay then~" Flameo seemed to smile, but Hong Kong was unsure if things with beaks could smile. "Although you shouldn't splash water on me, I don't really like it~"
"Okay," Hong Kong muttered and started to swim on with the current, the Torchic following him by the side of the river.
