South Korea found himself on the ground, his back stinging in pain, staring up at the tree he was previously in. ‘Well, that wasn’t one of my better ideas,’ South Korea thought, sitting up and rubbing his back. He considered it lucky that he wasn’t that hurt. He leaned against the trunk of the tree and quickly grew antsy due to the silence. He let out a loud scream and stood up instantly, breaking out in a run.
‘Silence is always bad!’ he thought, running faster. He soon stopped when he heard some noises within the bushes. With his curiosity peaked, he walked over to the bush and started to brush away the branches, wincing ever so slightly when some scratched his forearms. But he ignored them when he saw a blue and milky-colored mouse stuck in the branches. He broke away the branches that were constraining the mouse and successfully got it free, ignoring the fact that his hands were slightly bleeding.
“ASSA!” Korea cheered, nuzzling the mouse. “I got you free!”
“Cynda. Cynda,” it cried. Confused, he put the mouse down, staring at it. It shyly crept towards his hands, nuzzling it. South Korea cooed at the small mouse, obviously thinking it was cute. He patted its head and smiled.
“Be more careful next time, okay?” he said, grinning widely. He stood up and started walking back the way he came. He blinked when the mouse followed him and smiled. He picked it up, patting its head.
“Looks like you want to come with me,” he said, looking down at the mouse. “Name… Name… Since you’re blue and white… Payan? Haran?” His eyes widened when he saw a fan with his national flower on it. Quickly putting the mouse down, he walked over to the fan and grabbed it, hugging it.
“ASSA!” he cheered. The mouse trotted over to him, rubbing his leg. He looked down at it and blinked.
‘Why did he come over when I didn’t call him?’ he wondered, confused. ‘… Is it because…’ Pocketing the fan, he stepped a few feet away from the small mouse.
“Assa,” he called out, making it run towards him. He laughed, petting the mouse. “Okay! Your name is now Assa!” Grinning, he picked up the Cyndaquil and walked back.
